JL's professional Dota 2 journey began in March 2016 with Skyville, where he participated in ESL One Manila 2016, a major tournament with a substantial prize pool. While his first team didn't secure a placing, his subsequent participation in MPGL Season 8 Leg 1 with Skyville resulted in a second-place finish and his first taste of prize money. These early experiences laid the foundation for his future success, exposing him to high-level competition and allowing him to hone his skills alongside players like Erice, Tims, Van, and Kevz.
Throughout his career, JL has represented a diverse range of teams, including Happy Feet (Europe), Neon Esports, Sterling Global Dragons, LFS.ph, Cignal Ultra, and Polaris Esports, all primarily based in the Philippines. His most significant earnings came from his time with Adroit and Neon Esports, highlighting his consistent contributions to team success. His experience playing with and against various players from different regions has undoubtedly broadened his understanding of the game's meta and strategic depth.
JL's tournament history is extensive, including participation in notable events such as the Omega League: Asia (9th place with Adroit), and the Destiny Cup Season 1 (3rd place with Adroit). He’s also played in the LingNeng Trendy Invitational and the Artisan Dota League, though without placing in the latter tournaments. His participation in a variety of tournaments, both large and small, demonstrates his commitment to the competitive scene and his willingness to constantly test his skills against a wide range of opponents.
