Marlin's professional journey began in April 2017 with CDEC.C (CDEC.Chase), where he played his first match in the VPGame Challenge League Season 3. Although his team didn't win, this early experience marked the beginning of his competitive career. He played alongside players like Iced Cola, Dstones, and wenhao, gaining valuable experience in team dynamics and high-pressure situations. This initial exposure to the competitive landscape laid the foundation for his later success.
Throughout his career, Marlin has represented approximately nine different teams, including prominent organizations like CDEC Gaming and FTD. His time with these teams provided opportunities to collaborate with various players and develop his skillset further. While some teams yielded more success than others in terms of prize money, each experience contributed to his growth as a player and broadened his understanding of the diverse strategies employed in professional Dota 2.
Marlin has participated in around 18 tournaments throughout his career. His participation in tournaments like the Perfect World Dota 2 League (PWL) seasons 1, 2, and 3, along with the ANGGAME China vs SEA #3, demonstrate his consistent presence in the competitive circuit. He achieved remarkable results, securing three second-place finishes and one third-place finish, showcasing his consistent ability to perform at a high level against some of the best teams in China.
