VinnySal's competitive journey began in June 2018, playing for Just Dotes in the The International 2018 Open Qualifier. This early experience alongside players like RyaNoob, Pumpkin, .tv/raildota, and Forks_Rule, exposed him to the high-pressure environment of professional Dota 2, although the team didn't achieve a placing. His early matches provided a crucial foundation for his future development in the competitive scene.

Throughout his career, VinnySal has represented five different teams. His experience includes playing for Just Dotes (USA), GM (Golden Mulas, Peru), PB (Portland Burnsiders, USA), and Executioners (USA), before joining GRIN (GRIN Esports, USA). While his time with these teams hasn't yielded any significant tournament victories, it has provided valuable experience and insights into different playstyles and team dynamics within the North American Dota 2 scene.

In recent times, VinnySal has participated in several North American Dota Challengers League seasons (NADCL), as well as ESL One and Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) events. Although his teams haven't achieved top placings in these tournaments, his consistent participation demonstrates his commitment to the competitive landscape. His focus on improving his support skills and contributing to team success remains the driving force behind his continued involvement in professional Dota 2.
